When it comes to finding a spirited, dynamic, powerful trio to perform the clarinet trios of Béla Bartók and Igor Stravinsky, one would be hard put to name a superior alternative to Wang, Kashimoto and Ottensamer. Yuja Wang, the phenomenal pianist who routinely flutters the dovecotes, and is one of today's brightest concert stars, needs not be introduced to the Budapest audience. It was the playing of Zoltán Kocsis, he said apropos of his recent stint as the soloist of Bartók's Piano Concerto No. 2, that he became interested in the work of the Hungarian composer.

Currently a leader at the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Daishin Kashimoto was still a teenager when he won such competitions as the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists, the Cologne International Violin Competition, and the Viennese Fritz Kreisler Competition.

The Hungarian-Austrian Andreas Ottensamer also plays with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and his 2015 album of Brahms won an Echo Klassik as the instrumental record of the year. He has earned popular and critical renown with a uniquely beautiful way of playing.
