This festival marking the birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach features concerts in churches, concert halls, underpasses and squaresand outstanding musicians celebrating the Baroque master with free concerts in public places around the world. Seven days of Bach being played everywhere, including Budapest!

The international Bach in the Subways programme was launched by New York cellist Dale Henderson in 2010- with the intent of increasing interest in classical music. The objective of the festival really is to bring classical music to everyone, which is why the organisers inspire the artists involved to perform concerts in surprising locations where concerts are not ordinarily held and to incorporate special elements into them. The festival's diverse offering of concerts, unique programmes and educational performance have the can present the Baroque era and classical culture to the concert-going audience in a new light. Several elements of the programme offering also enable the audience to join the artists as they perform as they perform, and the children's, youth and family programmes are intended to cultivate the next generation of the music-listening audience.

Three young talents - pianist Éva Szalai, music historian Endre Tóth (who on this occasion will play a piano piece for four hands together with Szalai) and cellist Zoltán Onczay will perform what may well be Bach's most popular solo and chamber pieces, including his Partita Overture in D major (for piano), his Sonata for Viola di Gamba in G major (for cello and piano), as well as piano transcriptions for four hands of Bach's works by György Kurtag.
