Winner of the Prima, Liszt, Gramofon and Rising Star awards and decorated by the Republic of Poland, pianist János Balázs is a teacher at the Snétberger Centre. His free concerts for children have attracted more than 15,000 attendees, and in 2016 he played for an audience of 10,000 at Budapest's Saint Stephen's Basilica. He is the founder and artistic director of the György Cziffra Festival.

Balázs was 13 years old in 2002 when he was admitted to the Franz Liszt Academy of Music's Special School for Exceptional Young Talents, and by the time he finished at the university, he had racked up victories at six international piano competitions. He is a regular guest at concert halls and festivals both in Hungary and abroad, having made repeated appearances in Japan, China, South Korea, the United States and Canada. In spite of his youth, he is already a veteran of Europe's most prestigious concert halls, including Vienna's Konzerthaus, London's Barbican Centre and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, as well as the Cité de la Musique in Paris and the Bozar in Brussels. In order to nurture the intellectual and spiritual legacy of his role model, he founded the György Cziffra Festival in 2016 and serves as its artistic director. His performances are characterised by a unique vision: his belief that music can only emerge from the deepest and most sincere feelings of the soul.
