Conductor Gilbert Varga is a true globetrotter: there's hardly a corner of the world where he hasn't taken the podium. It was scarcely 20 years ago when John Adams won tremendous acclaim at the BBC Proms with his short piece, while Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto is one of the most exciting 20th century pieces of its genre. Prokofiev is his own continent - and a different world.
"The experience of flow is perhaps the most important feeling that can emerge while performing a musical work, both for the performer and for the listeners. […] I don't think any other branch of the arts is capable of creating such a direct connection between people, and this is probably why it has such a magical effect on people.” (Kristóf Baráti)
