This festival marking the birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach features concerts in churches, concert halls, underpasses and squaresand outstanding musicians celebrating the Baroque master with free concerts in public places around the world. Seven days of Bach being played everywhere, including Budapest!
This programme features songs and arias from Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach (BWV 508 - 518), which Bach dedicated to his wife. Bach was the starting point of Laura Faragó's life, as she first encountered his music as a child, and later moved on to the "pure source” of Hungarian folk songs via the choral works of Béla Bartók. It is her wish to also close out her career with the songs of Bach. As she believes: "This would complete the circle.”
