Weber, Mendelssohn, Borodin, Prokofiev - all of it evocative and energetic music. At the head of the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra, we will get to meet some promising young people: Martin Rajna, the ambitious chief conductor of the ensemble, was 25 when he was appointed to this job alongside artistic director Kálmán Berkes, and János Mátyás Stark, the soloist for Mendelssohn's violin concerto, has also achieved fine successes as a composer. For her part, Georgia's Tamta Magradze, who will play Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3, won a special prize at the 2021 Liszt Piano Competition for her memorable performance.

János Mátyás Stark has been playing the violin since he was eight. He mastered his instrument at such institutions as the Béla Bartók Conservatory and the Liszt Academy here in Budapest, the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, and the Summer Academy of the Salzburg Mozarteum and the Kronberg Academy. He is a soloist, a chamber musician - and a composer. He has won competitions in his latter capacity, just as he has as an instrumental performer. Tamta Magradze was born in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi in 1995. She has been playing the piano since the age of five. After studying in her native country, she moved on to the Franz Liszt College of Music in Weimar, where she obtained a master's degree in 2019. She is currently pursuing her postgraduate training there as well. In addition to attending master classes with prominent artists such as Eliso Virsaladze, Rolf-Dieter Arens, and Imre Rohmann, she has also won scholarships and had successful showings at international competitions. After completing his intermediate studies in piano and music composition, Martin Rajna obtained his master's degree in conducting from the Liszt Academy as a student of Ádám Medveczky and Gergely Ménesi. One of the busiest conductors in his age group, the Junior Prima Award-winner is being mentored by the Péter Eötvös Contemporary Music Foundation.
