Jazz Showcase

1-3 February 2018

After its first decade, the most important talent fair of the Central European region will be held for the eleventh time for the lovers of jazz next year. Showcasing young talent will again be the backbone of the Jazz Showcase programme in 2018. Artists such as The Best Bad Trip, LightBulb, the Balázs Horváth Trio, the Wind Singers, the Panni Kalmár Trio, the Vintage Dolls, The Coquette Jazz Band and the Gábor Antal Trio will be performing to earn the recognition of both the public and the industry. The talented youngsters will again showcase their skills in front of an international panel of renowned experts. The most exciting performances will be given awards by the judges and the audience, and the best performers will have the opportunity to return to play at MÜPA Budapest as part of International Jazz Day and the Jazz 0820 event.

The concerts will see the very best in the jazz scene entertain the audience. Jazz pianist Áron Tálas, one of the breakthrough artists of recent years who has since then also had international success, will perform on stage with Mike Moreno. As another truly unique and special performance, the best Hungarian jazz musicians will pay tribute to legendary guitarist Attila Zoller who passed away in 1998. The audience will also have the chance to enjoy saxophonist Kristóf Bacsó, known for his daring improvisations and wide musical scope, accompanied by his guest, New York-based Israeli guitarist Gilad Hekselman.
