Tristan und Isolde cast change

We would like to inform our audience that, in the performance of Tristan und Isolde at the Budapest Wagner Days,  7, 13 and 16 June, due to Anja Kampe being unable to perform through illness, the part of Isolde will be played by Allison Oakes.

The outstanding British soprano gained world fame through her great success in the title role of Salome at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, as well as her compelling performance as Isolde in the new Tristan und Isolde production of the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste and her unforgettable appearance as Gutrune in Götterdämmerung at the Bayreuth Festival in 2017. The 2017-18 season has also brought her great successes: she debuted in the role of Brünnhilde in the concert performance of the third act of The Valkyrie at the Berlin Philharmonic and also undertook her first performance as Chrysothemis in Electra at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

In addition to her memorable stage performances, she has also been successful in numerous singing competitions, for example, in 2010 in Denmark, she was awarded first prize at the Lauritz-Melchior International Wagner Singing Competition and, in was also chosen as favourite by both the orchestra and the audience.
